How to get to the conference venue

The Conference will be held at VIP Executive Entrecampos Hotel & Conference, conveniently located at Avenida 5 de Outubro 295, 1600-035 Lisbon, Portugal.

Whether you are arriving from Lisbon Airport (Humberto Delgado Airport) or the City Centre, getting to the conference site is easy and straightforward.

How to get to conference site from the airport

    • By car
      The conference site is approximately 10-15 minutes from the airport by car, depending on traffic. Taxis are available right outside the airport terminal.
    • By metro
      From the airport, take the Red Line towards S. Sebastião station. Get off at Saldanha station and transfer to the Yellow Line – towards Odivelas. Continue for two stops and exit at Entrecampos station. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the station, heading south along Avenida 5 de Outubro. The metro is open from 6:30 am to 1 am and a single fare costs €1.85. This fee is charged to the reusable Viva Viagem card, which costs €0.50 for the initial purchase.
    • By bus
      From the airport, take Bus 789 heading towards Amoreiras. Disembark at Entrecampos (Av. da República) and walk approximately 5 minutes to the hotel.

How to get to conference site from the city centre

    • By car
      The estimated time is 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. From Baixa-Chiado, head north towards Avenida da Liberdade. At Marquês de Pombal Roundabout, take the exit for Avenida Fontes Pereira de Melo. Continue onto Avenida da República, passing Campo Pequeno. Turn left onto Avenida 5 de Outubro and follow it for about 1 km. The VIP Executive Entrecampos Hotel & Conference will be on your right.
    • By metro
      From Baixa-Chiado Station, take the Blue Line heading towards Reboleira. Transfer to the Yellow Line at Marquês de Pombal station and continue for 3 stops to Entrecampos Station (exit here). Walk approximately 5 minutes south along Avenida 5 de Outubro to reach the hotel.
    • By bus
      From Praça da Figueira (near Baixa-Chiado), take Bus 736 heading towards Odivelas. Get off at Entrecampos (Av. Da República) and walk about 5 minutes to the hotel.

How to get to and from the airport

Airport

Lisbon Airport, also known as Humberto Delgado Airport, is located approximately 7km from the city centre of Lisbon. It takes about 15-20 minutes to reach the downtown area by taxi or car.

Getting to and from the airport 

    • By car
      Car rental: Car rental companies have their offices in the airport terminal. The drive to the city centre takes about 15 minutes via the E1 expressway or Avenida Almirante Gago Coutinho.
    • By Shuttle
      The Aerobus offers regular services from the airport to key areas in Lisbon. Check the schedules and stops at https://www.portugalvisitor.com/portugal-travel/aerobus. Payments can be made with cash or card.

      Prices:
      Adults: 4€ one way, 6€ round-trip.
      Children (ages 4-10): 2€ one way; 3€ round trip.

    • By taxi:
      There is a taxi rank available at both Arrivals and Departures. At peak arrival tomes you may expect long lines. A journey to downtown Lisbon (Baixa) typically takes about 15-20 minutes and costs around 15€ in light traffic.The base fare starts at 3.25€ on weekdays and 3.90€ on weekends and holidays and an additional fee of 1.60€ may be add if you transport luggage or animals.
    • By metro
      Lisbon Airport is directly connected to the city’s metro network (Red Line). Trains run from early morning until late night (from 6.30 a.m. to 1 a.m.) and the metro ride to the city center takes about 20 minutes. A single trip costs 1.85€, and reusable navegante cards can be purchased for 0.50€.

    • By bus
      Several city buses operate from the airport to various locations in Lisbon. Popular routes include 705, 744 and 783. Tickets can be purchased on board for 2.20€ (cash only). For more information, visit https://www.carris.pt

Visa Information – Portugal

Portugal is part of the Schengen Area, a group of 26 European countries that allow free movement of people between each of them. As such, citizens from any of these countries do not need a visa to visit Portugal, though if staying longer than three months they must request a registration certificate.

Please be aware that the conference organizers are not able to haste visas’ appointments or other procedures for participants. We won’t be able to contact directly consulates or embassies and we do not intervene in anyway with the Visa process as the participant is the singular responsible to apply and follow up on the Visa application. We advise all participants to check whether or not a visa is needed. If you are likely to need a visa, we recommend that you make your application as soon as possible.

All international nationals must possess valid identification and travel documents before entering Portugal. Please be mindful of the Portugal passport and visa policies for citizens and visitors. For more information check the following pages:

Visa invitation letter

To help you, once your registration is validated, we can issue a letter which confirms that you have registered (as an author of accepted paper, listener, etc) and paid to take part in the conference. All letters will be issued in digital format only. The conference organisers will not be held responsible for any visa-related issues or delays.
